In a shocking incident that has left the Chandannagar community reeling, a man named Babul Ghosh reportedly killed his wife adn daughter before taking his own life. The gruesome event unfolded in the Kalupukur area, raising serious concerns about mental health and financial distress in the region. According to police reports,Babul,overwhelmed by debts from loans taken for his business,made the tragic decision that would end three lives.
Babul Ghosh, along with his wife, Pratima, and daughter, Poushali, were found dead in their home. Neighbors revealed that Babul had previously worked in a tin box factory and later drove a totto (auto-rickshaw) before running a small shop at home. However, mounting debts reportedly amounting to lakhs of rupees had pushed him into a corner. Local residents speculate that Babul’s mental health had deteriorated due to the stress of his financial situation, leading to this heartbreaking act. initial investigations suggest that he first attacked his family with a spade before taking his own life by hanging.
