Tragic Murder-Suicide Attempt in Hooghly: A Family Shattered
In a shocking incident that has sent ripples of fear and disbelief through the Bhadrakali area of Hooghly, a man allegedly murdered his wife and four-year-old daughter before attempting to take his own life. The victims, identified as Payel Chatterjee and her daughter, Adrita, were found in a gruesome state, raising serious concerns about domestic violence and mental health issues in the community.
According to police reports,Kashinath Chatterjee,the accused,returned home early Wednesday morning and used a fruit-cutting knife to commit the heinous act. After the incident, he was discovered severely injured and was initially admitted to Uttarpara State General Hospital. However, due to the critical nature of his injuries, he was later transferred to Kolkata Medical College for further treatment. Authorities have confirmed that Kashinath was employed at a local factory, but the motive behind this tragic event remains unclear. The chandanagar Commissionerate is currently investigating the case,aiming to uncover the circumstances that led to this heartbreaking act of violence.
