In a significant move aimed at enhancing security, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued a directive requiring all aircraft window shades to remain closed during takeoff and landing at military airfields, particularly those near the western border with Pakistan. This regulation applies to all commercial airlines operating in India and underscores the heightened security measures in sensitive areas.
the DGCA’s directive specifies that window shades must remain closed until the aircraft reaches an altitude of 10,000 feet after takeoff, and they should be closed again once the aircraft descends below this altitude during landing. Additionally, passengers are prohibited from taking photographs or videos while at military airfields, with airlines responsible for ensuring compliance among travelers. Violations of these rules will lead to legal action in accordance with security protocols. Meanwhile, India has extended the ban on Pakistani aircraft entering its airspace for another month, reflecting ongoing tensions in the region.
