Supreme Court’s Functioning is Not Chief Justice-Centric, says Chief Justice B.R. Gavai
In a recent address at a function organized by the Bombay Bar Association, Chief Justice B.R. Gavai emphasized that the Supreme Court’s operations are not solely centered around the Chief Justice. He highlighted ongoing efforts to break this perception and enhance transparency in judicial appointments, a commitment that has been in place as the tenure of former Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna.
During the event, Chief Justice Gavai revealed that the Supreme Court recently conducted interviews for 54 job candidates, approving the appointment of 36 individuals. He assured that this process will continue to reflect portrayal from all societal levels while maintaining transparency. This initiative marks a significant step towards a more inclusive judiciary, aiming to foster trust and integrity within the highest court of the land.
