CCTV Footage Clears Krishnaendu of Theft Allegations

Tragic Loss: 12-Year-Old Boy Dies by Suicide After False Theft Accusation

In a heartbreaking incident from Panskura, West Bengal, a 12-year-old boy named Krishnendu Das took his own life after being falsely accused of stealing a packet of chips. The young student, who was in Class 7, faced severe public humiliation and physical abuse following the allegations. His family is now grappling with the devastating aftermath, as a suicide note revealed his desperate plea of innocence: “Maa, I did not steal.”

Krishnendu’s tragic story highlights the severe consequences of bullying and public shaming. On May 18, he was accused by a local shopkeeper, leading to a brutal confrontation that left him traumatized. The incident escalated when Krishnendu was beaten and humiliated in front of his peers, an experience that no child should endure. The family was left in shock when CCTV footage later confirmed that he had not stolen the chips, amplifying their grief and anger over the injustice faced by their son. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for compassion and understanding in our communities, especially towards vulnerable children.
