Jobless Six Meet Education Secretary as Opposing Side Heads to Supreme Court

Deadline Approaches: Teachers Demand Resolution Amidst Ongoing Protests

As the deadline looms, the Secretary of Education,Vinod Kumar, convened a crucial meeting at Bikash Bhavan. Five protesting teachers and one female educator entered the venue shortly after 1 PM, following indications from Education Minister Bratya Basu about the discussions. The atmosphere is tense, with teachers firmly refusing too take any new examinations, insisting instead on constructive dialog to achieve positive outcomes.

The Supreme Court has mandated that the School Service Commission (SSC) must issue a notification for the recruitment process by May 31, leaving only five days for compliance. Reports suggest that preparations for the recruitment process are nearing completion. Protesters are anxiously awaiting the goverment’s next steps toward resolution. Meanwhile, a faction of the jobless teachers has approached the Supreme Court, seeking intervention from the retirement bench. They are pushing for the release of a mirror image of the merit list and demanding the immediate dismissal of unqualified candidates, highlighting the urgency of their plight.
