In a striking display of military strategy, Ukraine has launched a notable drone offensive targeting Russian air bases deep within its territory. This operation, reportedly overseen by President Volodymyr Zelensky and the head of Ukraine’s internal security agency, Vasyl Maliuk, has resulted in the destruction of over 40 Russian aircraft, including strategic bombers like the TU-95 and TU-22.The drones, cleverly concealed within wooden pallets, were remotely controlled and sent to specific targets, marking a new chapter in the ongoing conflict.
The Ukrainian strikes hit military airfields in regions such as Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, ryazan, and Amur. While Russian defense systems managed to intercept many of the drones, reports indicate that the attacks were particularly effective in Murmansk and Irkutsk. Interestingly, it is believed that Russian truck drivers may have been involved in facilitating these drone strikes. In retaliation, Russia launched missile attacks on a Ukrainian military camp, resulting in at least 12 fatalities and over 60 injuries among Ukrainian soldiers.
