West Bengal’s TMC Delegation Visits Jammu and Kashmir to Support Shelling Victims
In a heartfelt gesture of solidarity, a five-member delegation from West Bengal’s ruling party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), visited the district hospital and medical college in Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday. The visit aimed to connect with those injured in recent Pakistani shelling, offering reassurance and support from leaders like Derek O’Brien and Manas Bhuniya.This initiative comes in the wake of the Pahalgam incident, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by the people of Kashmir.
The TMC delegation, which included Rajya Sabha MPs Derek O’brien, Sagarika Ghosh, and Nadimul Haque, as well as state minister Manas Bhuniya, sought to understand the current situation in Kashmir firsthand. Thier journey began with a meeting with Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, followed by a visit to Poonch to meet with more victims. The TMC plans to compile a report for the Chief Minister upon their return, emphasizing their commitment to addressing the humanitarian crisis in the region. This visit not only underscores the political dynamics at play but also reflects a growing concern for the welfare of those affected by violence in Kashmir,resonating deeply with the sentiments of Indian citizens.
