Teachers Demand job Reinstatement: A Tense Encounter at Kalighat
In a determined bid for job reinstatement, a group of teachers from the Job Haba movement made their way to Kalighat to meet with the Chief Minister. This follows a previous attempt by six teachers to present their demands directly to the Chief Minister, only to be thwarted by local police. The ongoing struggle highlights the teachers’ unwavering commitment to their cause, despite facing notable obstacles.
On Thursday, the teachers were met with resistance from the Kalighat police, who detained them before they could reach the Chief Minister’s residence. Undeterred, some managed to submit a memorandum outlining their demands at the Chief Minister’s office. However,on Sunday morning,a fresh group of teachers returned to the area, insisting that the Chief Minister was at home and that they deserved an audience. Regrettably, they were once again denied access, leading to frustration and disappointment. They left behind a collective letter detailing their grievances, hoping it would reach the Chief Minister’s desk. This ongoing saga not only underscores the teachers’ plight but also raises questions about the responsiveness of the government to the needs of its educators.
