Excitement Builds as Digha’s Jagannath Temple Prepares for First Rath Yatra
In a vibrant display of devotion and celebration, Digha’s Jagannath Temple is set to host its inaugural Rath Yatra following the recent inauguration. The festivities kicked off with a grand Snan Yatra, where Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee personally sent mangoes and jackfruits from her garden as offerings. This year’s Rath Yatra promises to be a important event, marking a new chapter for the temple and its devotees.
The atmosphere in Digha is electric as preparations for the Rath Yatra unfold. The temple has been adorned with elaborate decorations, and a special pavilion has been constructed for the royal bathing ceremony. Devotees witnessed the sacred bathing of Lord Jagannath, Balram, and Subhadra, using a blend of water from 108 holy rivers, Panchamrit, and fruit juices. This ritual, steeped in tradition, was conducted with great reverence and precision. Following the ceremony, the deities will make a grand appearance in their majestic attire, captivating the hearts of the gathered devotees before retreating to the sanctum. With 56 varieties of offerings prepared, including the fruits sent by the chief Minister, the Rath Yatra is poised to be a memorable occasion, uniting the community in faith and festivity.
