In the early hours of the morning, a 5.2 magnitude earthquake rattled Manipur, sending shockwaves not only through the state but also felt in neighboring Meghalaya and Bangladesh. The National Center for Seismology has identified the epicenter of the quake in Churachandpur district, located approximately 40 kilometers beneath the earthS surface. Eyewitness accounts describe homes swaying and the ground trembling, creating an atmosphere of uncertainty and anxiety. this incident follows a series of seismic activities in the region,including two earthquakes that struck Manipur on March 5,originating from Kamjong district. With this latest quake, residents are left wondering if they are entering a new phase of seismic instability, raising concerns about preparedness and safety in a region already vulnerable to natural disasters.
