Acting on a tip-off, authorities discovered that these suspects where targeting marginalized communities across various states, luring them with promises of low-interest loans and subsequently swindling their hard-earned money. This operation has unveiled a widespread network of deceit that has been affecting districts throughout West Bengal.
According to police reports, the arrested individuals were adept at exploiting vulnerable populations, using enticing offers to gain their trust before siphoning off their savings. Following a spontaneous complaint, a case was registered at the Baguiati police station, leading to the swift apprehension of the fraudsters. In addition to the arrests, law enforcement recovered a significant amount of electronic equipment, including laptops and mobile phones, which were likely used in their operations.the suspects have been remanded to police custody for seven days as investigations continue,shedding light on the alarming rise of cybercrime in the region.
