Old Building Collapses in Bowbazar: One Injured in Sunday Incident
In a shocking incident on Sunday, a portion of an old building collapsed on Shrinath Das Lane in Bowbazar, creating a stir in the area. One individual was rescued in serious condition,highlighting the dangers associated with aging infrastructure in urban settings.
The collapse occurred during renovation work, with a notable section of the building, including a balcony, giving way. According to police reports, the renovation was underway when part of the structure fell, trapping a worker named Ashutosh Adhikari beneath the debris.He was promptly rescued adn transported to Kolkata Medical College for treatment. At the time of the incident, around five to six workers were present on-site, and emergency services, including building department officials, disaster management teams, and local police, quickly arrived to assess the situation and ensure safety.
