Congress Criticizes Government’s Handling of Pahalgam Attack Amidst Ongoing security Concerns
In a pointed critique, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh has called out the central government for its failure to apprehend the militants responsible for the Pahalgam attack, despite the recent Operation Sindoor. he argues that while the BJP is rapid to capitalize on the situation politically, the real culprits remain at large, raising serious questions about national security and governance.
Ramesh expressed his dismay over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance allegedly using the operation as a smokescreen to mask its political and diplomatic shortcomings. He emphasized that the government’s attempts to take credit for the bravery of the armed forces are not only disingenuous but also indicative of a deeper failure. He challenged the BJP to answer pressing questions before distributing Sindoor, questioning its effectiveness and the identity of those benefiting from it.Ramesh pointed out that the militants involved in the Pahalgam attack are linked to at least four other incidents, yet they continue to roam freely. Despite repeated inquiries about the actions taken against these individuals, the government has remained silent, rather deflecting criticism towards the Congress party. Ramesh concluded that the BJP is using the Sindoor operation as a shield to obscure its failures, leaving citizens to wonder about the true state of security in the region.
