Operation Sindoor: Legislative Assembly to Discuss pahalgam Terror Attack and Indian Army’s Response
on Tuesday, a special proposal regarding the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam and the Indian Army’s counter-operation, dubbed Operation Sindoor, will be presented in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. Speaker Biman Banerjee announced that a two-hour discussion will take place, possibly involving Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. This comes as the assembly session begins with nine members present, and the topic of Pahalgam’s security and the central government’s role has already been raised by the Trinamool Congress.
In recent days, Mamata Banerjee has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Operation Sindoor, highlighting concerns about tourist safety in Pahalgam. Meanwhile, opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari has called for a separate discussion on Murshidabad during the assembly session. Speaker Banerjee emphasized that while many may have various points to discuss, only those that are legally permissible will be addressed. This ongoing dialogue reflects the heightened political sensitivity surrounding national security issues and the government’s response to terrorism, resonating deeply with the public’s concerns.
