Tragic fire at E-Charging Station in Shahdara Claims Lives and Raises Safety Concerns

A devastating fire at an e-charging station on Motiram Road in Shahdara, Delhi, has left the community in shock.Reports confirm that two individuals have lost their lives, while four others are in critical condition following the incident that occurred early Sunday morning around 6:40 AM. Eyewitness accounts reveal that several e-rickshaw drivers were charging their vehicles when the fire erupted, quickly engulfing the area in thick black smoke.

As the flames spread rapidly, those present found themselves trapped, leading to a frantic scene. Local firefighters arrived promptly but faced a challenging battle to control the blaze, which took nearly two hours to extinguish. Emergency services managed to rescue four severely injured individuals, who were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care. Tragically, the charred remains of two others were also recovered from the site. This incident not only highlights the urgent need for improved safety measures at such facilities but also raises questions about the overall regulation of e-charging stations in the city. As the community mourns, the call for accountability and enhanced safety protocols grows louder.
