Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai Promoted to Deputy Chief of Army Staff Following Operation Sindoor
In a significant move for the Indian Army, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai has been promoted to the position of Deputy Chief of Army Staff.This declaration comes on the heels of a successful dialog between Ghai and Pakistan’s Major General Kashif Abdullah, wich led to a ceasefire following the recent Operation Sindoor on May 10. The ministry of Defense confirmed this growth in a statement released on monday.
Lieutenant General Ghai, an officer of the Kumaon Regiment, previously served as the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) starting in 2024. Before that,he held the position of General Officer Commanding of the 15 Corps in Srinagar. His promotion to the strategic role of Deputy Chief of Army Staff underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to enhancing its operational capabilities and strategic planning in a complex geopolitical landscape. Ghai’s extensive experience and leadership will be pivotal as the Army navigates ongoing challenges in the region.
