Mamata Banerjee Issues Urgent Alert to Police on Terrorist Infiltration
In a decisive move to bolster security in West Bengal, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has directed the police to remain vigilant against potential terrorist infiltration from outside the state. Emphasizing the importance of police presence, she urged officers to patrol more frequently, ensuring that the community feels secure and aware of their vigilance.
With rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the central government has already issued warnings to various states. During a recent meeting in north Bengal, Banerjee expressed concern over the influx of individuals from neighboring states like Bihar and Assam. She highlighted the sensitivity of border areas, recalling a recent incident in Shitalkuchi where a person was abducted. The Chief Minister sternly reminded local police and Border Security Force (BSF) officials that they must not turn a blind eye to their responsibilities, as the safety of the region hangs in the balance.
