This year marks the 79th anniversary of one of the city’s most cherished celebrations, with preparations already underway for the ceremonial ‘Khutipuja’ that heralds the arrival of Goddess Durga. The theme for this year’s festivities, “achol Ananta” (From Stagnation to Infinity), promises to be a captivating journey that reflects the resilience and progress of the nation.
The organizers have crafted an innovative plan to bring this theme to life, with artist dipankar Dey designing the pandal decorations to resonate with the concept of transformation. Suresh Sethia, the president of the puja committee, emphasized that the Khutipuja is not just a ritual; it symbolizes the beginning of a vibrant celebration. He likened the swift rotation of a wheel to the rapid advancement of the country, a sentiment that will be beautifully illustrated through the “Achol Ananta” theme.
