Trinamool Congress Nominates Alifa Ahmed for Kaliganj Bypoll following Father’s Demise
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) has officially nominated Alifa Ahmed,daughter of the late MLA Nasiruddin Ahmed,as their candidate for the upcoming by-election in the Kaliganj assembly constituency. Scheduled for june 19, the election comes in the wake of Ahmed’s passing in February at the age of 70. Nasiruddin Ahmed, a prominent figure in TMC, had a tumultuous political journey. He first won the Kaliganj seat in 2011,faced defeat in 2016,but made a comeback in 2021.
