In a dramatic turn of events, approximately 216 inmates escaped from Karachi’s Malir Jail during a chaotic evacuation triggered by earthquake tremors. The jailbreak occurred on Monday night, leading to a notable manhunt as authorities scrambled to recapture the fugitives. Tragically, one inmate lost his life during the incident, and several others were injured amidst the turmoil, including security personnel.
The jailbreak unfolded when inmates were temporarily moved from their cells for safety reasons. As panic ensued, a group of prisoners launched a surprise attack on the guards, seizing weapons and making their escape. Reports indicate that 78 of the escaped inmates have already been recaptured, and officials have confirmed that none of the escapees were affiliated with any terrorist organizations.
