In a shocking incident that has sent ripples of outrage across Odisha, two teenage girls were allegedly abducted and gang-raped during a wedding ceremony in Ganjam district.The police have arrested four suspects who attempted to flee to Andhra pradesh. According to Brahmapur’s Superintendent of Police, Shravana Bibek, the incident occurred on June 3, when the girls attended the wedding with their families.
The ordeal began when the two girls were reportedly lured away from the wedding festivities by someone they knew. As their families searched frantically for them throughout the night, the situation escalated into chaos. Unable to locate the girls, the families eventually turned to the police for help. Initial investigations revealed that the girls were taken to a secluded location by the familiar face, who was later joined by three other men. Tragically, the group allegedly assaulted the girls before abandoning them. On june 4, the girls were found injured, just a few kilometers from the wedding venue, prompting their families to file a formal complaint against the four accused.
