By Thursday afternoon, it is expected to make landfall between West Bengal and Bangladesh, bringing with it the potential for heavy to very heavy rainfall across northern and southern Bengal. the Alipore Meteorological Department has confirmed that the system is currently located about 100 kilometers southeast of Sagar Island and 130 kilometers southeast of Digha.
As this whether system advances northward, it is anticipated to develop into a deep depression. The coastal areas between Sagar island and Khulna are on alert, with warnings issued for heavy rainfall in Kolkata and surrounding regions on Thursday and Friday.
