Air India Faces Multiple Flight Disruptions on Same Day
In a troubling turn of events, Air India experienced significant disruptions with three of its flights on the same day. On Tuesday, Flight AI 159 was scheduled to depart from Ahmedabad to London’s gatwick Airport but failed to take off even after the designated time had passed. Air India later announced the cancellation of the flight, raising concerns among passengers.
This incident comes on the heels of a tragic accident on June 12, when an Air India flight from Ahmedabad to Gatwick crashed, resulting in the loss of all 241 passengers on board. Following this disaster, the flight number was changed from AI 171 to AI 159. Additionally, another Air India flight, AI 180, traveling from San Francisco to Mumbai via Kolkata, encountered mechanical issues with its left engine. After landing in Kolkata, passengers were forced to disembark, and many were transferred to another aircraft for their journey to Mumbai. Meanwhile, a flight from Delhi to Paris, AI 143, was also canceled due to mechanical faults discovered during pre-flight checks. Reports indicate that another Air India flight returning from Paris to Delhi is also set to be canceled, further compounding the airline’s operational challenges.
