Teen Tortured Over Mobile Theft Allegations in West Bengal

In a shocking incident that has sent ripples through West Bengal, a 14-year-old boy was allegedly tortured for suspected mobile theft. The boy, who worked at a jeans factory in Maheshtala, was reportedly hanged upside down, subjected to electric shocks, and physically assaulted. The police have arrested three individuals, including the main accused, Shahensha, but the victim remains missing, raising serious concerns about his safety and well-being.

The incident highlights a disturbing trend of vigilante justice in the region, where individuals take the law into their own hands, often leading to severe consequences. The boy, a resident of Islamapur, was working to support his family when he became the target of this brutal act. As the community grapples with the implications of such violence, questions arise about the effectiveness of law enforcement and the need for greater awareness regarding the rights of minors. This case serves as a grim reminder of the urgent need for systemic change to protect vulnerable individuals from such heinous acts.
