The Central Bureau of investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of India had been actively pursuing Nehal Modi, seeking his return to face charges related to the staggering ₹13,000 crore fraud. Reports indicate that his arrest was executed in response to India’s formal request. As the legal proceedings unfold, a hearing is scheduled for july 17, where Nehal may apply for bail. Though, U.S. prosecutors are prepared to contest any bail submission,indicating that the legal battle is far from over.
