Devastating Floods in Northeast India: Assam Faces Catastrophe as Death Toll Rises
The northeastern state of Assam is grappling with a severe flood crisis, exacerbated by relentless rainfall. As the situation unfolds, over 630,000 individuals across 21 districts have been affected, according to Assam’s Disaster Management Authority. Families are being relocated to safer shelters, but the challenges remain daunting. in the Shreebhumi district, entire neighborhoods are submerged, leaving residents in dire straits. One such resident, Mohammad Raham Ali, shared his harrowing experience of living in a temporary tent with his family for the past three days. “All our food supplies have been destroyed, and our home is now underwater. We are facing numerous hardships, including access to clean drinking water,” he lamented.
