As the revered Amarnath Yatra approaches, authorities have taken significant steps to ensure the safety of pilgrims. From July 1 to August 10, the entire pilgrimage route has been designated a no-fly zone, a decision made by the Jammu and Kashmir Home Department. This measure comes in the wake of recent security concerns, particularly following the Pahalgam attack, and aims to provide a secure habitat for the thousands expected to undertake this spiritual journey. The no-fly zone prohibits any drones, UAVs, or helium balloons from operating in the area. However, exceptions will be made for essential medical services, disaster management, and security operations. The pilgrimage, which runs from July 3 to August 9 this year, is a significant event for many devotees, and the central government has emphasized that no stone will be left unturned in ensuring the safety of both the route and the pilgrims. With heightened vigilance and extensive security measures in place, the authorities are committed to making this year’s Amarnath Yatra a safe and memorable experience for all.
